Megan Mitchem

Clinical MSW Student Intern

You’ve been holding everything together while quietly believing you’re “too much.” Maybe you’re used to masking, over-functioning, or shrinking so things don’t fall apart. Therapy with Megan focuses on loosening shame and practicing a steadier kind of self-acceptance — especially for neurodivergent adults and parents who are used to caring for everyone else first.

Megan Mitchem began her clinical training at Divergent Path Wellness as an MSW student intern through Virginia Commonwealth University and will join the practice as a staff clinician in August 2026. She offers individual therapy to adults, especially neurodivergent parents and high-achieving professionals who have spent years feeling “too much.” Megan helps clients untangle shame, cultivate steadier self-acceptance, and build ways of caring for themselves as intentionally as they care for others.

Megan is currently accepting new clients through our sliding scale internship program and will offer sliding scale through August 2026. Beginning in August, Megan will transition to a staff clinician role and at a private pay rate of $155, accepting Anthem and Sentara insurance plans. The sliding scale internship program is available only while Megan is serving as a student intern.
