The Intern Clinic at Divergent Path Wellness
Guiding by our commitment to expanding intentionally inclusive, affirming mental health services – Divergent Path Wellness provides training and support for student interns in master's degree programs focused on mental health and human services.
Clinical student interns offer sliding-scale therapy to our community, developing their approach to care as LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiversity- Affirming professionals. Clinical interns practice under the supervision of licensed therapists and participate in monthly trainings with Divergent Path Wellness staff, consistent with intentionally inclusive, affirming practice as our standard of care.
Generalist student interns, not in clinical placements, may include students in social work, human services, and other social science programs. They provide complementary support services such as body doubling, support groups, educational workshops, and community outreach – sharing the work of creating space for authenticity.

Accessible Sliding-Scale Rates for Therapy & Supportive Services
Sliding-scale services offered by student interns in master's-degree programs make it possible to increase access to intentionally inclusive, affirming individual and relationship therapy and supportive services including body-doubling and community groups, including educational and peer support opportunities.
Sliding scale therapy is not billable to insurance, is time-limited to the duration of the internship, and is intended to expand access to therapy when affordability is a barrier.
Due to contract requirements, we are unable to offer sliding scale to Medicaid plan members.
