Matthew Christensen, MSW

Matthews, a therapist at Divergent Path Wellness, stands beside a tree, smiling as though he's confident in you and inviting you to join him for walk-and-talk therapy.

Like Rocket Raccoon, ain't no thing like you 'cept you. As an Avengers enthusiast psychotherapist, with a Guardians collection (part of the background in my online sessions), I would love to be able to give you the confidence of my favorite fierce not-a-raccoon.

Today you're probably not feeling like a hero. That's okay. If you're trying to make sense of a confusing, sometimes dark, origin story and piecing together what self-expression and self-acceptance mean for you; you're in the right place.

I can tell you "there's no set timeline on self-discovery" but I know that when you're having new realizations in adulthood about your identity, it can feel like you're behind. Wonder where you go from here? Got grief about how things might have been different? Worried that self-exploration and self-expression could disrupt your relationships?

You might joke that if you had a superpower it would be "invisibility".  â€‹

Can I let you in on something? I believe in your uniqueness. Kinky, geeky, gamer, queer, neurodivergent? Welcome. The parts of your identity that stay hidden are worthy.

I get that trying to make sense of things alone *really* doesn't feel super. The uncertainty you're feeling is real. Shame? That's real too. Painful thoughts and feelings seem powerful. That can make taking the first step, reaching out, really tough. They don't have to control you

We can uncover your authentic story together.

What I bring to our work together is humility, a desire to understand things from your perspective, and a evidence-based approach to therapy.

If you're ready to work with a professional therapist committed to affirming your identity and celebrating what makes you you, schedule your free consultation today. â€‹
