Hello! I'm Ames, a clinical social worker offering virtual and in-person sessions in Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

As a therapist, I actively work to decolonize my practice and challenge the ways social norms and inequities can limit the care that providers offer our communities.

 

I believe that my job is to support you on your path to authenticity, joy, and wellness. In session, I incorporate gentle challenges and humor to build a therapeutic relationship that fosters growth and self-reflection.

 

I recognize how harmful systems can impact our mental health, and I believe we have the ability to offer ourselves compassion and action.
 

As a trans, neurodivergent therapist, I believe in care for the community, by the community, and I specialize in affirming therapy for LGTBQIA+ and Neurodivergent communities. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, prioritizing your values over external expectations.
 

Finding the right therapist can be so hard. Especially for those of us who find our identities are often underrepresented in healthcare. I'm here to affirm your lived experiences and support you in your path to wellness, whatever that may look like for you.
